The FAA has different Grades of certificates.  They are: Student, Private, Commercial and Airline Transport Pilot.

Per the FAA Airmen Certification Branch, IACRA generated Student Pilot applications will take approximately 3 weeks to process.  The airman will be issued a permanent, plastic, pilot certificate with a permanent pilot certificate number.
